The Common Slice

Paige Veliz-Gilbert
An "out to in" swing path, cuts across the ball resulting in weak slices. Frequently, this is caused by the left elbow folding out causing the familiar term "chicken wing".

To correct this, perform what we call the Split Grip Drill:
Separate your hands so that they do not touch. Then take a few practice swings. You will begin to feel your right side drive forward. Allow your left arm to be soft and relaxed and you will begin to feel the proper motion of the swing.
